I dig what she started out doing, but then selling out to the media companies, selfridges, etc. sort of debases the point she was trying to make in the first place.  Yes, I get that the joke is them, but she is complicit and profitting from the machine she was/is parodying.  She’s crossed the imaginary line and that is a dangerous thing to do, in my opinion.

I started The Moviegoer for a class my freshman year at Uni and finished it a decade later (starting from page 1).  I really enjoyed it.  I actually decided to read it randomly one day while looking for a book on the shelf.  It wasn’t because of Katrina, at least not consciously, but I suppose that could have had an influence on my decision.  In any case, I really enjoyed it.  Probably more...

sunday night project: update firmware on old Linksys VOIP to allow for non-vonage use as a SipPhone. check. Set up grandcentral to forward calls to sipphone. check. call self from mobile to cordless and make silly noises to confirm it works. check. Can you hear me now?
